ProDoc SWISS CINEMA NETWORK «Discourses and Practices of Cinema and the Audiovisual»
The ProDoc doctoral program «Discourses and Practices of Cinema and the Audiovisual» was conceived by the three universities of the SWISS CINEMA NETWORK (University of Zurich, University of Lausanne, and Università della Svizzera italiana) and funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF).
The ProDoc consisted of a study program and four research modules: «Diffusion: the Transnational Circulation of Cinematic Images and Imagery,» «Cinema and the Public Sphere,» «Epistemology of the Audiovisual,» and «Reception.» Over the course of three years, the program also offered candidates numerous opportunities to acquaint themselves with the academic world of film and media studies (through invitation of experts, visits to other universities, exchange with peers, etc.).

To continue the cooperation with the University of Lausanne, the SUC doctoral program Film, Photography, and Other Visual Media was launched in 2013.
