An der Universität Zürich ist zum 1. August 2018 eine Assistenzprofessur mit Tenure Track für Filmwissenschaft zu besetzen. Nach zwei Anstellungsperioden von jeweils drei Jahren erfolgt vorbehaltlich einer positiven Evaluation im Rahmen eines Tenure-Verfahrens die Beförderung auf eine entfristete Professur.
Die künftige Stelleninhaberin bzw. der künftige Stelleninhaber soll das Fach in Lehre und Forschung in seiner ganzen Breite (Theorie, Analyse und Geschichte des Films) vertreten können. Erwartet wird ein Schwerpunkt in der Filmgeschichte (einschliesslich der Geschichte der Filmtheorie) von den Anfängen bis Mitte des 20. Jahrhunderts. Ausserdem wird die Mitarbeit in fakultären, nationalen und internationalen fachspezifischen wie interdisziplinären Kooperationsstrukturen und in Gremien der universitären Selbstverwaltung verlangt.
Vorausgesetzt werden eine abgeschlossene Promotion, weitere exzellente wissenschaftliche Leistungen und Publikationen im relevanten Gebiet sowie ein fortgeschrittenes Forschungsvorhaben im Rahmen eines Habilitationsprojekts oder zweiten Buches. Auch fächer- und disziplinenübergreifende Ansätze – Bezüge zur Geschichts-, Literatur- und Kunstwissenschaft oder zwischen medialen Dispositiven – sind erwünscht. Ein Ausweis über die bisherige Lehrerfahrung ist erforderlich. Unterrichts- und Verwaltungssprache ist Deutsch; in Forschungskooperationen wird Englisch und zum Teil Französisch gesprochen.

The University of Zurich invites applications for an Assistant Professorship with Tenure Track in Film Studies. The position should be filled by August 1, 2018. After two temporary three-year contracts the position will become tenured on the condition that the candidate passes the evaluation process.
Candidates should be able to represent the field in its entire range (theory, analysis and history of film) in teaching and research. A main area of research specialization should be the history of film (including the history of film theory) from the beginning to mid-20th century. Candidates are required to participate within the faculty and in national and international, specialized and interdisciplinary cooperation structures as well as in university committees.
Candidates should hold a PhD degree at the time of application and have an excellent record of academic achievements and publications in the relevant field as well as an advanced postdoctoral research or Habilitation project. Interdisciplinary approaches – connections to the studies of history, literature and art or interrelations between different media – are desirable. Experience in teaching is required. Teaching and administrative work is conducted in German; English and French are used in research cooperations.

L’Université de Zurich met au concours un poste de Professeur assistant avec Tenure Track en études cinématographiques.
Après une période provisoire de trois ans renouvelable deux fois, le poste pourra être stabilisé à condition que la phase de prétitularisation conditionnelle soit évaluée positivement.
Profil souhaité: les candidat-e-s doivent être capables d’aborder, sur le plan de l’enseignement et de la recherche, un large spectre de problématiques ayant trait à la théorie et à l’histoire du cinéma, ainsi qu’à l’analyse de films. Ils doivent en outre proposer un profil spécialisé dans le domaine de l’histoire et de l’esthétique du cinéma de la première moitié du 20e siècle (y compris l’histoire des théories). Des tâches administratives associées au statut professoral ainsi qu’un engagement dans des commissions facultaires et des structures de coopération disciplinaires et interdisciplinaires sur le plan national et international sont requis.
Les candidat-e-s doivent être titulaires d’un doctorat en études cinématographiques ou titre jugé équivalent, et pouvoir faire valoir une recherche doctorale ainsi que des publications de haut niveau dans le domaine de spécialisation précité. En outre, il/elle doit être en mesure de présenter un projet de recherche avancé en vue d’une habilitation ou d’un second livre. Des approches interdisciplinaires – abordant le rapport entre cinéma et histoire, littérature et arts plastiques, ou entre divers dispositifs médiatiques – sont également bienvenues. Un justificatif de l’expérience d’enseignement est exigé. La langue d’enseignement et de l’administration est l’allemand; la langue utilisée dans le cadre des coopérations de recherche est souvent l’anglais, parfois le français.
