Media Library

The media library of the Department of Film Studies features a video collection of over 40,000 films encompassing international film history from its beginnings to the present. The majority of films is available on DVD. Some titles are on video tape; this part of the collection is successively being digitized. As of 2015, an audio collection containing a representative selection of film scores (on CD) is being added to the library.

Both collections are for on-site use only. They are available to anyone working in the field of film studies. Media can be obtained at the department office (room G 231) during regular opening hours.

The media library’s complete holdings can be searched in the online catalog.

For more detailed information on using the media library and searching the catalog, see the German version of this website.
