Early Cinema Colloquium

Project leaders: Prof. Jörg Schweinitz, Zurich; Prof. Frank Kessler, Utrecht; Prof. Martin Loiperdinger, Trier

Doctoral candidates and postdocs at the Department of Film Studies and at the partner universities of Utrecht (Netherlands) and Trier (Germany), whose projects deal with early cinema, meet regularly to discuss their research and collaborations. Since 2009, the Early Cinema Colloquium has held meetings every semester, hosted alternately by the three participating universities.

In 2012, the three universities signed a «Memorandum of Understanding» to further realize the Early Cinema Colloquium as a vital forum for academic career development.
